Eucharistic Minister to the Sick and Homebound

Eucharistic Ministers (EM)to the sick and homebound serve the parish and the Lord by taking the Sacrament of the Eucharist to Catholics who are homebound or in local nursing homes.

Eucharistic Ministers to the sick and homebound must be registered members of Our Lady of Fatima Parish and regularly practicing their faith. They must be fingerprinted and complete a Level II background check. They also must complete the Diocesan Safe Environment Training Program. They must have a valid driver’s license or someone with a valid driver’s license to take them on their visits.

The head of the ministry will interview and instruct each new volunteer. They will be provided a Handbook for Visiting the Sick and Homebound. Before venturing off alone, they will serve a short internship with a veteran EM to complete their training.

Helping Hands Volunteer

This parish-based, community outreach provides food and other essential assistance to the local community. The Helping Hands ministry provides a variety of charitable works supported through donations and proceeds from our Thrift Store and Food Pantry drives. ALL the work in this massive ministry is provided by volunteers. The ministry’s core values are built around a Christ-like vision to support and assist those most in need.

Helping Hands provides direct assistance to the needy who reside in Inverness, Floral City, and Hernando.
