The Teacher’s Aide supports the teacher/catechist in the classroom with teaching and clerical tasks, such as individual tutoring and assisting with preparing lesson materials. They may also help supervise and guide students during free time and class activities, especially for students with special needs. They work under the direct supervision of a lead teacher who is in charge of the classroom. They possess a desire and capacity to work with children and young adults; demonstrate compassion and empathy; and the ability to uphold rules and regulations. Attentive to the general condition of the environment and mindful of the impact of orderly, safe, and clean surroundings.
