Commission: Eucharistic Ministers (EM) show devotion to the Blessed Sacrament by supporting the priests and deacons as they share the Bread of Life and the Chalice of Blessing with the faithful of the community.
Function: EMs assist the priests and deacons in distributing Holy Communion during the Mass. The time commitment varies depending on the availability of each person.
Candidate: Members must be 18 years of age or older and have received Confirmation. Married members must have been married in the Catholic Church. Their commitment to Christ and His Church should be evidenced by a life lived in conformity with Church teachings.
Meetings: The EM’s schedule for serving at Mass is published monthly. Liturgical guidelines for the reverent and orderly distribution of Holy Communion are reviewed as necessary.
Training/Preparation: Training is provided by the leaders and other members of the ministry.
