Are an integral part of the liturgical celebrations. They assist the priest at Mass, by holding the Sacramentary (book of prayers), going down with the priest and deacon for the presentation of the gifts, bring the water and wine to the altar during the Eucharist Celebration, and also the water, bowl & towel. They also ring the bells when the priest holds up the host and wine during consecration. Any Catholic boy or girl from 3rd to 12th grade and has made their First Communion is eligible to become an altar server. They must attend a 6 hour class.
