Helping Hands of Our Lady of Fatima is a catholic organization of lay persons whose aim is to help the people of our community. The purpose of Helping Hands is to aid those who are in need of help, regardless of race, color or creed, and religion in a spirit of justice and charity.
Monthly expenses are paid from proceeds from the operation of a Thrift store and donations from individuals. Our service includes pick up of larger items donated. Food, for our pantry, is purchased from a local grocery store and through a monthly food collection at our parish. We obtain, when available, week old bread from a local grocery store. Perishable items are not available. We average approximately 5-6 clients/day with office hours from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Because we are a self funded organization, Helping Hands services clients from Inverness, Hernando, and Floral City. Services include food distribution, utility assistance, prescription assistance, and store vouchers which allow clients clothes from our inventory. Any person in need is never turned away on their initial visit at Helping Hands.
